Terms of service
These terms apply when you use elentu.com, take our quiz, or buy an elentu membership. By using the site or buying a membership you agree to them, so please read them — especially section 3, which explains what elentu is and is not.
1. Who we are
elentu.com is operated by elentu Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [●], registered office [●]). You can reach support@elentu.com with any questions.
2. What elentu is
elentu is a financial education service. We offer a free quiz that produces an educational profile (your "archetype") and illustrative projections, and a paid membership giving access to structured lessons about investing concepts, delivered on the web and through our app.
3. Education, not advice — please read this
Everything on elentu is general education. Nothing on elentu is financial advice, and we are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
- No personal recommendation. Our content, quiz results, archetypes, and projections do not take your full personal circumstances into account and are not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any investment, or to use any provider, product, or strategy. Any examples naming products or providers are illustrations, not endorsements.
- Your capital is at risk. The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in. Past performance is not a reliable guide to future results.
- Projections are illustrations. Any figures we show — including projected growth of savings or investments — are simplified illustrations based on assumed rates of return. They are not forecasts, promises, or guarantees of any outcome.
- Quiz results are educational. Your archetype describes learning tendencies and attitudes; it is not an assessment of the suitability or appropriateness of any investment for you.
- Tax depends on your circumstances. Any mention of tax (including ISAs and pensions) is general information; tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change.
- Your decisions are your own. You are solely responsible for any financial decisions you make, including decisions informed by what you learn on elentu. If you are unsure whether an investment is right for you, take advice from an independent financial adviser authorised by the FCA. The register at register.fca.org.uk lets you check that an adviser is authorised.
- We do not handle your money. We do not sell investments, execute trades, manage money, or introduce you to specific investments.
4. Who can use elentu
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Our content is written for people in the United Kingdom; if you use elentu from elsewhere, the content may not fit your local rules and you are responsible for complying with local law.
5. Your account
A membership account is created with the email you use at checkout. Keep your password confidential and your email accurate — we use it for receipts, renewal reminders, and security notices. Your account is personal to you; do not share access. Tell us immediately at support@elentu.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
6. Price and payment
- Membership is an annual subscription. The price, and anything it includes, is shown at checkout before you pay and includes VAT where applicable.
- Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe, when you subscribe.
- Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each annual period at the then-current renewal price, and we email you a reminder before each renewal. You can cancel any time before the renewal date and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If a renewal payment fails and is not resolved after our retries, your membership ends at the end of the paid period.
- Founding-member pricing, where offered, applies for as long as you stay continuously subscribed; if you cancel and later return, the current price applies.
7. Refunds and cancellation
Our 7-day money-back guarantee. If elentu is not for you, email support@elentu.com within 7 days of your first purchase and we will refund you in full — no questions asked. Refunds go back to your original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days, and your membership access ends when the refund is issued. The guarantee applies once per person, to your first purchase.
Your statutory cooling-off right. As a UK consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase of digital content. Because membership gives immediate access to digital content, at checkout you consent to that immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the statutory cooling-off right once you access the content. Our 7-day guarantee applies regardless — it exists so that consenting to immediate access never leaves you worse off in practice. If you have not accessed any content, your statutory cancellation right remains and we will honour it.
Renewals. The money-back guarantee applies to your first purchase, not to renewals — instead, we remind you before each renewal and you can cancel at any time. If you meant to cancel and a renewal catches you out, contact us within 14 days of the renewal and we will refund it provided the renewed period has been substantially unused.
Faulty digital content. Nothing in this section affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: digital content must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality, and you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if it is not. Your statutory rights are not affected by anything in these terms.
How to cancel. Email support@elentu.com from your account email, or use the billing management link in your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not end the current paid period early.
8. Our content and your licence
All content on elentu — lessons, quiz, text, graphics, code, and branding — belongs to us or our licensors. While you have a membership, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the content for your own learning. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, scrape, or make the content available to others, or use it to build a competing service or to train machine-learning models.
9. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unlawful use, no attempting to breach security, probe, or overload our systems, no automated access without our written permission, no impersonating others, and no giving investment advice to other users through any community feature we may offer.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep elentu available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access — maintenance, updates, and events outside our control can cause interruptions. We continually improve the service and may add, change, or retire content and features, provided the membership retains materially the same overall value during a period you have paid for. If we ever discontinue the service entirely, we will refund you proportionally for the unused part of your membership.
11. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under English law, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for investment losses or the outcomes of financial decisions you make. elentu provides education only (see section 3); decisions about your money — and their results — are yours.
- We are responsible for foreseeable loss we cause by breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for business losses — elentu is for private, non-commercial use.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Ending your membership
You can cancel as described in section 7. We may suspend or terminate your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms (for example, sharing your account or redistributing content); where fair, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we terminate without you being at fault, we will refund the unused part of your membership.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law, our service, or how we operate. For material changes we will give you reasonable notice by email, and if you do not accept a material change you may cancel and receive a proportional refund for the unused part of your membership.
14. General
These terms are the whole agreement between us for your use of elentu. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation (for example, if the business is sold); we will tell you if that happens and it will not reduce your rights. Only you and we may enforce these terms. If we delay enforcing a right, we can still enforce it later.
15. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring claims in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your local courts, and you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer rules there.
If something goes wrong, please talk to us first at support@elentu.com — we aim to resolve complaints quickly and fairly. We are not required to, and do not, participate in an alternative dispute resolution scheme.
